As your student prepares for life after graduation, one of the most important steps is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). The FAFSA opens for everyone on October 1, 2025, and we encourage all families to get started early.
To support you, Trico High School will be hosting two FAFSA Completion Nights:
Tuesday, October 21, 2025 – 4:30–7:30 PM
Thursday, October 23, 2025 – 4:30–7:30 PM
Representatives from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) will be on-site both evenings to guide you through the FAFSA process. In addition, at 5:30 PM each night, there will be a presentation on scholarships and financial aid.
What you can do now:
Students and parents can create their accounts at studentaid.gov.
Parents may already have an account if they completed the FAFSA for themselves or another child within the past 15 years.
Students should not use their school email address when creating their account, since they will need access after graduation.
Even if you don’t believe your family will qualify for need-based aid, we strongly encourage you to complete the FAFSA. Many colleges, scholarship programs, and even student employment opportunities require it for consideration.
If your student does not plan to attend college, parents may instead complete a FAFSA waiver. Waiver forms are available from Mrs. Schaber.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our FAFSA Completion Nights and helping you take this important step toward your student’s future.
