CONGRATULATIONS TRICO HIGH SCHOOL MUSIC DEPARTMENT! We are so proud of our students! This past Saturday, Trico High School Band, Choir, and Performing Arts took 146 events to compete in the IHSA Solo & Ensemble Contest at Herrin High School. Our students received 98 division I ratings(superior), 38 division II ratings(excellent),7 division III ratings(good), and3 division IV ratings(fair). Trico High School is in 1ST place for band and vocal and tied for 1ST place for strings in Class C competition from across the entire state!
The Trico Music Department scored a combined 645 points, which again puts our music department currently in 1ST PLACE OVERALL for the 2026 IHSA Class C State Music Sweepstakes Competition!! The Music Department also had 2 performances earning special recognition as the "BEST OF DAY" PERFORMANCE from their judges. Camryn Neville, Avrie Blair, William Grau, and Brayden Ellis won "BEST OF DAY" for their Vocal Ensemble. Molly Rathert, Natalie Dagner, Ethan Ellison, and Leila Reiman won "BEST OF DAY" for their Vocal Ensemble. Trico will again be performing in the continuation of the State Competition on Friday, April 17th, 2026 at IHSA Organizational Contest at Murphysboro High School!
